Each and every day our Supporters meet and collaborate on a 1:1 basis with their guests (our name for clients), offering a non clinical approach in a safe and confidential space to listen and help them make meaningful improvements to their lives.
Alongside 1:1 support, Supporters also facilitate programmes, workshops, support and social groups, and work as part of a supportive small team that is passionate about, and committed to, making a difference in the lives of our guests and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding children and young adults
- Guest case load
- Supporting guests with a wide range of emotional, mental and life challenges
- Speaking with families and caregivers
- Facilitating workshops support and social groups
- Delivering programmes and training
- Building professional relationships with other agency practitioners (CAMHS, AMHS, Education staff, Social workers, Charity practitioners)
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience of working with children, young adults and families
- Knowledge of or training/qualifications in mental health and/or self harm and/or suicide
- Committed to training and continual professional development
- Ability to work as part of a team and independentlt
- Ability to manage own time, case load and prioritise work load
- Compassion and empathy
Desirable Requirements
- Safeguarding awareness
- Familiarity with systems: Google Workspace; and Trello
- Flexibility
- Lived experience of poor emotional and mental wellbeing and/or self harm/suicidality
- Mentoring or support work
