In October last year we were approached by Oxfordshire MIND, who are delivering suicide prevention training for Oxfordshire County Council as part of their countywide suicide prevention strategy, to write and deliver a training course specifically around young people experiencing suicidality for professionals working with young people, and any adult who regularly comes into contact with young people.
After months of writing and reviewing we are looking forward to delivering this training both online and in person over the next few weeks.
This training will also introduce our new NAVS (Notice, Ask, Validate, Support) methodology, which helps participants to remember simple steps to supporting a young person who has disclosed suicidality. Additonally, the training also provides guidance on how to have conversations with caregivers/parents of young people who have made a disclosure.
