Every donation, of whatever amount, is incredibly important to our aims.
Nai’s House consistently strives to find ways to offer support with the aim of ensuring that anyone who needs help can access it as soon as possible. We know groups aren’t for everyone but they offer the opportunity to receive support, meet others, reduce loneliness, build self confidence and impart knowledge and understanding.
The Parent/Family Support Group was started to meet the need for Parents or other family members to come together to share their experiences of their children’s mental health concerns in a welcoming, non-judgemental, safe and confidential space. There are now two different groups running once a month. Those that attend have either a child or children receiving mental health support from Nai’s House, other services, or may be on a waiting list. The group does not promise to have all the answers, but has proved that having a place to come to share with others who are facing similar daily challenges can be invaluable. From connections made at meetings, their support network can grow, new friends are made, and advice is shared.
Through the continued and regular attendance by some, it is clear that there is such a need for this group. For times where extra support is needed, one to one meetings can be arranged. The key value behind the group is “No one ever needs to feel they have to manage alone”.
