Workshops

Nai's House has devised a number of workshops to provide additional opportunities to receive support and is open to all guests on our waiting list as well as anyone in the community who feels that they would benefit from attending.

Nai's House workshops are created by our team to help participants gain a better understanding of themselves and ways to manage their thoughts and feelings. The content is developed using current research and elements of our day to day work to ensure that participants have the best possible experience and can implement the learning to improve the management of their thoughts and feelings.

The workshops run for blocks of 8 weeks and are offered 3-4 times a year.

Suicide Action survivors (SAS) WORKSHOP

SAS is an 8 week programme for those who have experienced varying levels of suicide action. The 8 week programme explores the thoughts and feelings that led to the individuals to take suicide action, the thoughts and feelings during the action and the thoughts and feelings after the action. We are providing participants with psychoeducation around dysregulation and how being dysregulated leads to suicide and self harm action. This then gives us space to explore ways for individuals to manage their suicide ideation that is tailored to the individual, all whilst exploring ways to cultivate hope and a sense of purpose as well as creating connections with other participants who share similar experiences. SAS is NOT group therapy.

SUICIDE PREVENTION: LOOKING AT SELF HARM (SPLASH) WORKSHOP

SPLASH is an 8 week workshop for under 18s with an aim to educate guests on ways to manage their suicidality and self harm, how/why they become dysregulated, and explore ways to cultivate purpose and hope whilst creating connections with others that understand. SPLASH is NOT group therapy.

YOUTH BEREAVEMENT WORKSHOP

Our eight week programme is planned to support bereaved young people and the emotions and behaviours that we have when managing grief.  We look at roots and connections to people and the pain when they are no longer there. We also talk about memories, anxieties and resilience.  We work interactively with participants in a safe and confidential environment, doing crafts and activities, and encouraging conversation.

BEREAVED BY SUICIDE WORKSHOP

The Bereaved by Suicide Workshop is for anyone who has experienced the tragedy of suicide and the enormous challenges that are faced in the short and long-term. The group is led by two supporters, both having firsthand experience of the loss of a loved one to suicide. The sessions will allow for feelings to be shared and questions to be asked of others in a safe, supportive and confidential space.  Those bereaved by suicide can often feel isolated and that the stigma associated with this type of death can mean that the support they once had from others has disappeared, or that others just do not know what to say or do so they “do nothing”. Through being able to talk freely and honestly, the group will help to guide each other through the grief process. During the sessions people can relate to others, realise and acknowledge how grief makes them feel and how it has affected them in different ways in a safe space with people who will listen and offer care and understanding.
